(Get ink, shed tears)!

If there's a song I could perfectly sing in Russian, it's a stanza from a poem by Boris Pasternak

Fevrál. Dostat´ cherníl y plakat´

Pisat´o fevrale navzrid

Poka grokhochascaya sliakot

Vesnoyu chernoyu gorit

I was able to familiarize the lines through Regina Spektor's single Apres Moi. It means:

 February. Get ink, shed tears!

Write poems about february in sobs and ink,

While thunder booming in the background

Is burning in the black of spring

Perfectly beautiful lines. The sadness reflects your ability to flood your emotions through writing. The poem shows how nature affects what we feel inside. This is my own version of the poem:

September, I grab my pen to weep

My lines in between sobs, I keep

sunset memories, the play of lights

dying soon, oh now, out of sight.
